ShopSniff – GMC Compliance ("the app") is operated by Resolve Strategies. This page explains what the app accesses when installed on a Shopify store and what it does with that information.
When you install the app and run a scan, it reads the following store data through Shopify's Admin API, using only the access scopes it requests at install time:
The app never accesses customer records, orders, payment information, or any other personally identifiable data belonging to your customers.
Scan results (a list of findings — e.g. "missing refund policy" or "price mismatch on product X") are stored against your shop's domain in the app's database so you can view your scan history. Store data is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for any purpose other than generating your scan results.
Scan history is kept only for as long as the app is installed. If you uninstall the app, all stored scan data for your shop is permanently deleted within 48 hours, in line with Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks.
The free check reads only a store's public pages, the same pages any visitor can see. The store address you enter and the results are not stored. If you choose to leave your email after a check, we keep that email together with the store address and score, and use it only to contact you about those results. To have it deleted, email us at the address below.
